“The Family Picnic” Review

Putting aside the fact that I created and edited this film, I will act as a movie critic.

For starters, the film cover is excellent. It sets the mood for a suspenseful or eerie movie and has the audience wondering what they’re in for. The beginning scene develops the 3 family characters and it is clear that the parents are not exemplary, while the child is unique and intelligent. The roles are dramtic and funny which takes the sense of being scared away from the audience. However, as the film continues, the monster is introduced who does not have any lines, but brings strength to the horror aspect. The film ends with a cliff hanger of the child being taken away by the monster that either leaves the audience angry, or potentially excited to see “The Family Picnic 2”. Ultimately, viewers may be confused whether they are supposed to be laughing or scared- the film will be rated 6/10.

“Communications”

Although I’m not the first, I have decided to declare a communications minor. I’m posting this information to my blog because I feel like their are negative connotations associated with the major/minor “communication” or people just don’t know what it is.

https://saylordotorg.github.io/text_business-communication-for-success/s05-02-what-is-communication.html– Many explanatory websites are confusing

I’ve come to understand that communications is not only interpersonal, but intrapersonal as well. Resisting relationships with unfamiliar people closes off potentially valuable relations and a person’s quality of life increases when they expand their mind and take on new opportunities. Therefore, being able to understand yourself and recognize how you feel and what your emotions are allows you to excel in self realization and self actualization, which ultimately helps you communicate with others.

Mûśįč

Music holds so many different meanings for so many different types of people. To me, time spent not listening to music is time wasted. Depending on which mood I’m in, I have a different playlist to represent it.

One thing that I have noticed is that when I’m sad, listening to sad music makes me feel better. The sad lyrics and tunes of the songs tell me it is okay to be sad for the time.

https://embed.music.apple.com/us/album/you-broke-my-heart-again-feat-aiko/1438992202?i=1438992203 — my favorite sad song that makes me feel beter

On the other hand, if I’m not in the mood to go out with my friends or simply do not feel motivated, my pump up playlist gets me going and makes me feel good about myself. I don’t think this applies to me, but I do believe that music allows people to build a character for themselves. A person may not know how to put their emotions into words or express themselves but one of their favorite songs might.

Also, music has the power to bring people of all different backgrounds, cultures, race, gender, or religion together which is a beautiful thing. A concert is an environment where there is nothing besides the artist and their fans. The feeling of witnessing your favorite singer perform on stage in the same vicinity as you is purifying and life changing which honestly makes me question why certain concert tickets don’t cost more. Overall music has more power than words can ever describe and will never be ignored.

An Ammature Poem

It Never Knew

The green bud never knew

It never knew the life ahead

It just grew and grew without a choice

Until its petals spread

The petals felt awkward and long

It was shy and confused

It had so many questions

But its voice was unused

Where were the others? It wondered

All it saw was the green lawn

It felt as if the ants in the grass would take it down

But the grass was the only thing the flowers could rely on

So the plant grew and grew

But it never knew

What was coming ahead

Climate change, Economics, COVID

https://www.csmonitor.com/Environment/2020/0429/Bluer-skies-less-greenhouse-gas.-What-happens-after-the-pandemic

Not only is climate change a major environmental issue, but it is also a major economic issue. Due to the fact that every non-essential business is legally closed during quarantine, there have been dramatic changes in the enviornmental status. The air is clearer, dumping is haulted, beaches cannot be polluted because they’re closed, and machinery is factories are turned off. Firms of today’s society will have to figure out how to maintain these reduced emissions while still remaining profitable and efficient when circumstances return to normal and businesses open up. Even though most 1st world countries do not experience the severe climate differences that poorer third world countries do, American companies must not get ahead of themselves to compensate for “lost time” and keep others (and the planet) in mind.

Opinion | What the Coronavirus Means for Climate Change - The New ...

Post COVID

My last blog talked a little bit about the uncertainty of the future and I want to expand the topic. In my opinion, the U.S. economy is heading into frightening times due to coronavirus. During this quarantine alone, an estimated 15 million Americans have lost their jobs and are considered unemployed. This number will be hard to repair as employers who relied on their businesses to pay their bills will be dipping into emergency funds and will eventually be unable to pay remaining employees.

More Than 3 Million Americans Lost Their Jobs Last Week. See Your ...

The world was unprepared for this horrific turn of events and will be in recession for a never-before-seen amount of time. If current circumstances continue, there will be an overwhelming increase in crime rates, looting, and unethical business transactions that will ruin the country entirely.

I think counter-cyclical businesses (like those of cleaning supplies) will continue to thrive in the new “normal” because people will be more conscious of health safeness and businesses/institutions will implement mandatory health precautions. That side of the future might not be the worst thing to happen. Because of these horrible times, people finally (and hopefully) learned how to properly wash their hands and sanitize their surroundings.

Stir Craziness

These times are hard. The whole world is going crazy and I’m included.

https://www.vogue.com/article/parenting-in-quarantine-we-are-going-crazy

Sometimes I look back at old photos and think back to how I took being away at school for granted. Although I love my roommate to death, I hated our dorm and almost looked for reasons to complain about it everyday. The bathroom, shower, laundry, and stair situation seemed so bad in the moment but today, I would do anything to go back.

Power Ranking The Best And Worst Bathrooms On Campus
Who wouldn’t miss a bathroom like this?????

I didn’t realize that the day I left campus would be my last day to say goodbye to my friends who made my first year at Marist (or technically, semester) so amazing. I wish I got to at least say thank you to them and give them one last hug before this curse fell upon us and hugs became a forbidden gesture.

The past month has been filled with complete confusion, boredom, and angst. The worst part about quarantine is the uncertaintly. The fact that no one knows how long it will take for everything to go back to normal is frightening for anyone and everyone. A following question would be what is the new “normal” going to entail? No one knows. For now, the agenda will stay sleeping, eating, exercising, painting, and watching TV.

Did Aliens Cause the Corona Virus?

I think aliens are clearly to blame for the pandemic that crashed our world. Every night when I go outside for my walk before bed I notice a circular rim of light in the sky and it’s impossible to think that there’s not more behind this.

What's up with the ring around the moon tonight? | Texas A&M ...

This image is explained through scientific beliefs of reflecting light bouncing off the moon but it seems to look a lot like extraterrestrial light beaming in. With slim to no knowledge known about life outside Earth it is entirely possible that some outside force of life is working its way in.

https://www.techtimes.com/articles/247635/20200228/aliens-behind-first-coronavirus-confirmed-case-unknown-origin-scientist-claim.htm

This article supports my theory in deliberately stating, “After a US patient got a novel coronavirus and left medical authorities no clues as to its origin, a scientist claimed that the COVID-19 is the first wave of an extraterrestrial biological invasion of Earth.”

It’s happening may be right. Unfortunately, mass extinction of a species is not uncommon in the relativity of Earth’s time span. We were due for a 6th mass extinction and this might be it. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2014/02/11/there-have-been-five-mass-extinctions-in-earths-history-now-were-facing-a-sixth/

Although conspiracy theories about aliens are often discredited, I’m clearly not the only one who believes in aliens https://soundcloud.com/blink-182/aliens-exist-album-version (this song was posted in 1999).
