The song “Come and See Me” by the artist PARTYNEXTDOOR featuring Drake, reveals common issues concerning reltionship norms. PARTYNEXTDOOR’s effort to see his significant other is sending a text late at night which he may see as good enough, while she does not. The girl is offended as this implies only wanting convenient sex after partying with his friends. The lyrics “I hit you up like ‘Do you wanna hang right now?’ On the East Side and you know I’m with the gang right now, you say do I own a watch, do I know what time it is right now it’s after 2AM and that’s askin’ a lot of you right now,” support this idea. After quarentine, I’m not sure if people will be more inclined to want steady relationships or the opposite. The possibility that this way of “hanging out” will become more common is unsettling. A lot of things will change after these difficult times but I hope it won’t be for the worst.
This article shows the problems that this way of “hanging out” created. Tyga, Kylie Jenner’s ex, was not happy to find out how PND and Kylie’s relationship played out.
This 3 minute and 24 second scene has enough emotion and tragedy built into it to make someone cry for days. The beginning pictures the red truck facing the garage, no movement, no sound. The camera angle is then switched to the opposite direction showing only the car door and below where Cooper slowly steps out with one foot at a time. The sounds of rustling, loud breaths, sniffles, stumbling of his boot heels, and clumsily slamming of the car door are heightened and the audience becomes concerned. Further, the camera is now following Cooper, still from the waist down, and the swinging of the belt in his hand and unsteady walking are the main focus. The audience wants to see his face to understand what is going on but are kept in suspense due to the POV of the camera. Everything seems to slow down as it takes about 30 whole seconds for Cooper to place his hat down on the cabinet and a soft cry is heard, but still not seen which continues to confuse and scare the viewers. The scene then cuts to a close up of his face as he walks towards the camera and the background is blurred out with blaring garage lights. A look of lost hope and slamming of the garage door is followed by a scene cut to Lady Gaga’s on stage performance with flashing lights and an uproar from the crowd, contrasting the 2 moods of the two actors happening at once. The chaotic costume change for Lady Gaga seems to be the opposite of Coopers slow, agonizing end. The audience cringes as the camera cut goes from Lady Gaga on stage saying “Give it up for my husband Jackson” with clapping from crowd to Bradly Cooper nowhere to be seen and the dog whimpering outside the garage door in otherwise silence. The camera then shifts POV again and is zooming in on the front of the house with nothing but red and blue lights flashing, signaling the police have arrived.
The audience has then realized what happened and is devastated that it had to be that way. The camera angles and camera cuts built this heartbreaking emotion and suspense that ultimately made the audience feel that way.
I was definitely not interested in watching a movie with Lady Gaga as the star. She is outdated and the only memory of her that sticks out to me is her 2010 meat dress. (pictured below)
I thought it would be a movie about her career and the rest of the cast was just background.
I was so wrong.
After watching “A Star is Born” I was a little obsessed with the movie and became “that friend” that was bugging everyone to watch it. My heart was being pulled every which way from the romance aspect, the second hand embarrassment from the awards scene, the self and interpersonal betrayal, and lastly the tragic ending.
In a review from Rotten Tomatoes that states, “like all the best love stories their relationship reaches out beyond the screen, and asks the audience to experience the highs and lows, as if they were these characters,” Willow Maclay describes the intensity of the film perfectly. The parking lot scene where Bradley Cooper falls head over heels for Lady Gaga’s voice and personality takes you on a high where you wish you were this deeply loved, while the Grammy Award scene makes you wish Cooper was dead as he drunkenly peed on stage as Gaga accepts her award. When Cooper actually does die by suicide at the end of the film because he is told he is not good enough for Gaga, you regret ever wishing any bad on him feel like the worst person ever. When you find out that Bradley Cooper co-wrote/directed the film and some of its music, your mind is blown even more and you cry a little.
The review by Jorge Ignacio Castillo also found on Rotten Tomatoes angered me as he claimed, “More like A Star Is Bored. Am I right? No? I’m the only one who isn’t gaga for Gaga? Fine, then.” There was no time to even feel the slightest amount of boredom throughout the entire film and Lady Gaga played her part to the fullest. Her raw vocals chilled my bones. The power of her unedited voice is shocking and inspiring as she is able to sing that way without the help of any instrumentals or background music. (parking lot scene below- song: Shallow)
Overall, this movie exceeded my expectations and I developed a new level of respect for both Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. Aside from the film, I was also ecstatic to find out that their relationship mysteriously continued after the film as they were pictured together several times and dating rumors floated.
Every day I was up confused. I either don’t know what day it is, time it is (even if I’m looking at the clock), or where I am. A lot of times I also think my dreams are real life. When my alarm goes off I look down at my phone expecting it to be shattered into a million pieces because it flew down a flight of stairs, or so I think, only to then convince myself that that was just a dream. It gets pretty bad when I think conversations that I have in my dreams are real and go throughout my days with false information bottled in my mind.
Randomness is too chaotic for me. Using an app to determine where you’re going to live and how you’re going to live lacks stability. Without stability, I feel like I’m spiraling out of control and am not living up to my highest potential. Along with simple thing like random music, I wouldn’t feel complete. I want to listen to music that I’m already familiar with and love.
Am I the only one who is confused why there is about 89831242947 ways to save a photo in general or on photoshop? I hope someone is thinking “no, I’m confused too” so I don’t feel dumb. If so, the different files mean different things. You can’t print a logo for an airplane the same way you do for a pencil because they are totally different in size, dimension, and pixelates.
This commercial for Google that was aired during Super Bowl 2020 pulled the heart strings of thousands of people. Everyone who watched it may have felt an emotional connection with Loretta’s husband but really, no one knows if this story is actually true. For Google’s video editors, this was light work. All they had to do was play some sad music, add some vintage pictures, and do a voice over to sell the Google voice robots to the American public. They had to make it so convincing and emotional to steal back the part of society that is freaking out about every “smart” robot spying on them, which they probably actually are.
Deepfakes are a new and dangerous game in the 21st century. They manipulate whoever, whenever and there I virtually no way to stop the. In the featured video above you can clearly hear the words “fucked up dystopia” as former President Obama is pictured speaking although the audience is almost positive that is not accurate. However, for someone not informed of Obama’s true speech, they might mistake this clip as real and ultimately view him negatively for using foul language during a speech.
Such nonsense in a song made up of sounds with no meaning was part of the Dada movement which resulted in WW1. If God were to exist, this excerpt would not be to blame for such a gruesome and detrimental war period in history. The randomness of the sounds and rhythm of Primiti Too Taa is unexplainable that not even God can find meaning for.
